'The World in Our Eyes'
The World in Our Eyes is a concept born of the multicultural nature of the students at the University of East London (UEL). In 2010 Bulgarian born artist Valeriya Nyamtsova-Georgieva, exhibited her work as part of a group show at the Bulgarian Embassy in 2010. As a result she was invited to organise and curate her own exhibition there. 'Bulgaria in Our Eyes' is the result, and has also inspired the idea for the wider project 'The World in Our Eyes'. The Bulgarian Ambassador Lubomir Kyuchukov was pleased to offer his support with the use of the Sofia Gallery at the Bulgarian Embassy as a stage for expression. He stressed that the cultural programme of the embassy embodied different forms of art, with particular emphasis on supporting young artists.
